With the incredible weather we’ve been having around the Spokane area, we’re guessing you’ve been out and about enjoying your SUMMER TOYS with family and friends. Hopefully you’ve been having loads of fun camping, traveling and motoring around the lake without incident. It’s uncommon to take a break from sipping fruity drinks on the deck of your party boat to consider the worst case scenario, but have you taken a moment to think about insurance for your recreational vehicles?
Here’s a run down of the basics for insuring your summer toys…
Liability insurance is required in Washington state to drive a motorcycle. Don’t get caught without this basic requirement (or wearing your helmet, please).
Boat Insurance is not required in Washington, but it’s a good idea to have it. Boat Insurance covers you in case of loss or damage to your boat. It covers most watercrafts with motors but does not usually cover canoes, kayaks or personal watercrafts.
Liability for your travel trailer is extended from the vehicle pulling it. BUT if you want any coverage for the trailer itself (theft, fire, vandalism, physical damage, falling trees/garages), it should be added to a policy.
Sharing Your Toys = Sharing Your Coverage
Speaking of worst case scenarios, here’s a little story called The New Jet Ski. This story illustrates exactly why you need to be covered with the right insurance while out and about having fun in the sun.
